DAY 116- no break

Still not seeing any improvements =(

My arms are the worst part of my body right now. The nummular eczema patches are spreading! I don‘t know what‘s aggravating it. (must be the pregnancy hormones?) I‘m really clueless. Haven‘t eating bread for the months, no dairy. Little consumption of meat. I eat more veggies.

My neck is still dark in color, dry and itchy at times.

The only thing that has been changing is the weather. The Coldness of the air makes my skin drier.

When will I have that break? Few weeks from now, I‘ll be saying goodbye to 3rd month TSW/Protopic withdrawal.

I try my best not to scratch but oh my f?$@g god, it feels like something‘s crawling underneath the skin!

Btw, my groins are flaring up as well really itchy and dry.

argh! I miss my smooth skin

Day 110

Nothing much to blog. I just feel so sad about my skin.

I can‘t control the itch! Itch fest attacks at night time especially on my neck. Last night, I slept at around 4 am woke up at 6am then sleep again. Oh man I just want to have a decent sleep please!

By reading posts on facebook and Itsan.org I came to conclude that I have Topical Steroid Resistance http://www.xtosis.com/chapter12.htm

TSR or Topical Steroid Resistance is when your skin doesn‘t respond to treatment anymore. I was put on TS and protopic last May for a month. I never had oral Steroids and Injectibles (thank god!) Eczema rashes started to appear on my left arm after finishing the 1 month treatment.

Now I‘m suffering with a full blown nummular or discoid wet eczema on both of my arms. I must fight this misery. Baby is coming in less than 2 months. Maybe I‘ll get a little better.

Left hand is oozing when scratched. I can‘t really help it. It feels like something‘s crawling underneath it.

I don‘t know what will my gyne say if he sees my skin. Anyway I have a derma follow up on the 30th. He‘ll be surprised for sure how my skin looks like right now. I‘ll just tell him that I don‘t want to apply TS during pregnancy (Damn this stupid doctors). Since June I got 2 Topical Steroid prescription from 2 different Dermatologists. I just threw the crappy precription right after the check up lol.

I‘m excited to see my little prince on November. Due date is on the 15th. I‘m so nervous and excited at the same time.

TSW, protopic use and Nummular eczema

Don‘t ever say to my face that you are bothered by your tiny shitty pimple or melasma while I have this! I just want to punch your face! Why are there some insensitive people out there! What I‘m going through is not a joke! I‘d rather have acne than itching all night, shedding tons of skin and burning feeling on my skin and looking like I have a contagious disease! I didn‘t wish for this!
Most people I see on the internet undergoing TSW or Red skin Syndrome have the common rash or red sleeves. I keep on wondering why I have the Discoid type or nummular eczema. Why do I have different symptom. I‘ve also read on the internet that nummular eczema is a chronic eczema which is the most difficult to treat. Mostly not food allergy related.

I want to know all the answers to my questions. But using Topical or Oral steroid is not the solution. I pray that one day the Medical branch will accept this horrendous side effect of Topical Steroid use or Protopic use. It‘s not just about thinning of the skin or striae. Nobody deserves this Nightmare.
I never applied Topical Steroid or Protopic on my left hand.
My neck during a flare up

This is just sad. I want my normal life back. Once and for all, I am not contagious!

Dear God almighty please heal us. Give us strength to face this challenge.

Day 100 TSW/ Protopic free

Today marks the 100th day of me being protopic and TS free!

As for progress? it‘s too early to tell. I don‘t know exactly if I am progressing. My neck is still discolored but not as bad as before. My nape is still itchy and flaky. I can feel dry patches on my nape.

New eczema patches forming on my left index finger, thumb and ring finger! yikes! Left arms is getting worse so as the other arm.

They say withdrawal is like one step forward and 2 steps backward..

Itching is still worst at night time.

My belly is getting bigger ( and so are my thighs, they‘re rubbing together and it‘s friggin itchy). I can feel baby kicks really hard and it hurts! I‘m just enjoying pregnancy. 30 weeks down yahoo!

On the Itsan.org newest forum they tackle TSW during pregnancy and most mommies found their skin on a break for about 2 weeks after delivery then flared up again.

I‘m pretty sure pregnancy hormones plays a big role during my withdrawal.

I may not have that full blown red rash that ends at the wrist, which is the classic sign of TSW or RSS. Instead I have nummular eczema patches on my arms. I don‘t know if I am the only one withdrawing with severe nummular eczema patches. It‘s really disgusting to see.

By the way I received a package from metaderm this morning containing the Eczema cream and the eczema spray. I‘m totally surprised to see how big the items are. It doesn‘t contain steroids and it‘s all natural. I really hope it doesn‘t have hidden steroids to it. I got it as a trial kit. Thanks Metaderm for your generosity!

With Topical steroid withdrawal most people rely on vaseline, some people use cetaphil (some find ceptahil to sting on their skin) or egyptian magic cream. I used the egyptian magic cream but I didn‘t liked it. I used it for a couple of weeks but I find it not moisturizing enough, though the consistency of Egyptian magic cream is not that heavy compared to vaseline petroleum jelly. I think I reacted to beeswax or bee pollen so I stopped it.

We all have different skin types, so what works for me might not work for you and vice versa.

I really need to adjust my diet. I avoid wheat, dairy and sugar once in a while but sometimes I can‘t resist my cravings and grab me chocolate bar or choco brownie with ben and jerry‘s ice cream. It‘s hard to give up my sweet tooth!

What about you? What do you eat? Do you have a cheat day? I‘d be glad to hear your TSW diet routine.

God Bless us all and Happy Healing to us!
